FB-01 Synth Programmer

A sysex programmer for the 1986 Yamaha FB-01 4 operator FM synthesizer. Written in Max and Javascript, intended for use in Max for Live. Includes a preset system for saving patches locally, but is not meant as a sysex librarian (for that I recommend Snoize or MIDI-OX).

This is the result of literally hundreds of hours of work and research over the pandemic, building something from the ground up because I didn't like the FB-01 programmers I found, or they didn't take full advantage of the FB-01s (impressively confusing) architecture.

This is a tool I use in my own music, so as I run into problems or make improvements, the device will be updated. Let me know if you find anything broken, and I'll do my best to fix it. But also keep in mind: the FB-01 is *extremely limited*, and very to easy to confuse. Or alternatively, if you make changes and improvements, I'd love to know about them!

Technical:

- This software does not make any sound itself, but rather acts as a programmer for a piece of external hardware via MIDI. Without the FB-01 unit, this software is of no use to you.

- This was written in Max 8.1.11 and Live 11.06, and as of release has not been tested on any other systems. I cannot guarantee it will work in any older versions of Max, or Live.
